Briliant: The Handwritten Font That Makes Campaigns Stand Out

It was 9 AM and I was staring at a half-built Instagram carousel for a new product launch. The visuals were sharp, the color palette was on-brand, but something was missing. The text overlay on the hero image felt flat—like it wasn’t inviting the audience in. That’s when I remembered Briliant, a cheerful handwritten font I’d downloaded weeks ago but hadn’t yet used in a live campaign.

Briliant is more than just a pretty script. It’s a Script Amp font with a distinct personality—playful, approachable, and subtly elegant. The letters flow naturally, mimicking real handwriting without looking forced or overly stylized. It’s the kind of font that makes your audience pause mid-scroll because the message feels personal, like a handwritten note from a friend.

Why Briliant Works for Social Media Campaigns

When I dropped Briliant into the carousel’s headline, the whole look changed. The text wasn’t just legible—it was engaging. That’s the power of using the right display font in digital marketing. I used it for the main headline: “Meet Luna—Your New Go-To Skincare Ritual.” The soft curves and open spacing gave it a clean, feminine touch that matched the brand tone perfectly.

For a Pinterest campaign I was building the same week, I used Briliant in a quote graphic: “Self-care starts with your skin.” The font’s natural rhythm made the text easy to read even at a glance. On mobile, where users scroll fast and attention spans are short, that readability is gold. The font’s light bounce and slight slant gave the graphic a sense of movement and warmth.

Perfect for Short, Impactful Text

Briliant shines in short-form, high-impact applications. It’s not a font you’d use for long paragraphs, but it’s ideal for headlines, callouts, logo-style text, and decorative titles. Think of using it for a YouTube thumbnail headline like “New Product Reveal!” or a Reels cover that says “Behind the Scenes: Our Studio Tour.”

It also works well for sale announcements. I used it in a flash sale graphic that read “48 Hours Only!” paired with a bold sans serif for the discount code. The contrast helped create a clear visual hierarchy—Briliant drew the eye first, then the sans serif delivered the actionable detail.

Pairing Briliant With Other Fonts

Font pairing is critical in campaign design, and Briliant plays well with others. I paired it with a clean sans serif like Montserrat or Open Sans for body text and subheadings. This combination kept the design modern and balanced—Briliant brought warmth and personality, while the sans serif grounded the layout with clarity and structure.

You could also pair it with a serif font for a more classic editorial feel, or even another script font if you want to lean into a more whimsical or expressive design. Just make sure to keep one dominant font and use the secondary typeface for supporting text to avoid visual clutter.

Readability Tips for Mobile and Thumbnails

One thing I always test when using a handwritten font is legibility on small screens. Briliant holds up well, especially when used at a slightly larger size and against high-contrast backgrounds. For dark backgrounds, I added a subtle white outline to the text to ensure it popped. On light backgrounds, a soft shadow helped separate the text from the image underneath.

In thumbnails and preview cards, I made sure to keep the text short and centered. Briliant’s natural rhythm can sometimes make letters blend together at a glance, so I avoided long sentences and stuck to three to five words max. This worked especially well for social media story covers and email banners.

Designing with Briliant Across Campaign Assets

I used Briliant across multiple assets in the same campaign to build consistency. From the Instagram post headline to the landing page header and email banner, the font became a subtle but recognizable part of the brand touchpoints. It helped create a unified visual language that made the campaign feel more intentional and polished.

For a webinar promotion I worked on last month, I used Briliant in the event title: “How to Build a Morning Routine That Actually Works.” Below it, I used a smaller sans serif font for the date and speaker name. The result was a clean, inviting header that felt both professional and personable—exactly what we wanted for a wellness-focused audience.

What to Check Before Using Briliant in Commercial Projects

Before using Briliant in client work or branded templates, I always double-check the licensing. Since this is a commercial font, it’s important to confirm that the license covers digital ads, merchandise, templates, and client projects if you're a designer or agency. I also check for included styles, alternates, ligatures, and file formats—especially if I need web-optimized versions for landing pages or email headers.

Briliant supports multiple languages, which was a big plus when we localized our campaign for Spanish-speaking audiences. And since it’s a Script Amp font, it has a good range of typographic features that allowed me to customize the look slightly across different assets without losing consistency.

Briliant: A Smart Choice for Campaign Typography

By the time the campaign launched, Briliant had become a key part of the design system. It wasn’t just about aesthetics—it was about clarity, engagement, and recognition. The font helped make the message feel more human and less corporate, which is a big win in today’s crowded digital space.

If you're a content creator, marketer, or brand designer looking for a handwritten font that’s both expressive and functional, Briliant is worth a try. Use it where you need a touch of personality without sacrificing readability. Whether it’s for a social media graphic, a YouTube thumbnail, or a promotional email, Briliant makes your message feel like it was made just for your audience.
